FrontRowPrototype

Stats Tell You What Happened. FrontRow Tells You What It Means.

FrontRow uses real-time AI to surface the most meaningful moments in live sports and wraps them in context — history, stakes, and significance — so you understand why a moment matters, not just what happened.

About FrontRow

Every night, millions of fans watch exciting moments unfold during a game without fully understanding the context or impact. The broadcast shows what happened, and now FrontRow explains why it matters.

FrontRow is building the real-time narrative layer for live sports turning live game data into contextual storytelling that explains why moments matter. Powered by an intelligence engine that detects and explains the most meaningful moments in a game, FrontRow reveals the hidden narratives already inside live sports, for super fans and for casual viewers alike. You watch the same game, but now you understand more of why each moment matters. Put simply, FrontRow makes watching sports more interesting.

How It Works

FrontRow processes every match through four stages — from raw data to the kind of insight that makes you see the game differently.

01

Ingest & Enrich

Every pass, shot, tackle, and substitution is captured as structured event data. But raw events are just the starting point. Each event is enriched with cross-match context — player streaks, career milestones, head-to-head history — biographical context, and season stakes. The result is a signal package that contains not just what happened, but everything needed to explain why it matters.

For this prototype, we've ingested match events across 4 EPL fixtures and built enriched signal packages drawing on FBref season data, Opta match statistics, and contextual research from match reports and player histories.

4 matches enriched

02

Score Against History

Each enriched event is measured against statistical baselines: how it compares to the league historically, how it compares to this team's season, and what the match stakes amplify. The rarity engine also detects compound events — a rapid brace, a comeback sequence, a record being broken — that are more meaningful than any single event alone.

The rarity engine uses percentile distributions computed from 760 team-match observations across the 2024-2025 EPL season. Compound event detection identifies multi-event narratives like braces, comebacks, and milestone moments.

21 moments flagged

03

Generate Narrative

Flagged moments feed into a constrained AI narrative engine that produces 2-4 sentence cards explaining why each moment matters. The engine leads with the most interesting piece of context — not the event itself — and writes in real-time present tense, as if the card appears the moment the event occurs.

Every narrative passes six quality gates: length compliance, cliché rejection, generic language detection, specificity verification, transferability testing, and hallucination checking. If any gate fails, the card is regenerated.

21 narratives generated

04

Surface What Matters

The final output is a chronological feed of the match's most meaningful moments — each one scored, contextualized, and narrated. Not every event makes the cut. When FrontRow surfaces something, it's genuinely worth stopping for. Each card includes a transparency panel showing the full enriched signal package, so the intelligence behind the narrative is always visible.

In the full product, these cards arrive in real-time as the match unfolds — delivered to fans through a companion app, broadcast overlay, or API integration.

4 matches processed

This prototype demonstrates the core intelligence pipeline across 4 Premier League matches. The enriched signal packages are manually curated for the POC — automating this enrichment layer at scale is a primary objective of the seed round. The full product delivers these insights in real-time during live matches, layered with human stories, creator commentary, and shareable moment cards.

From Prototype to Product

This prototype demonstrates the core thesis: AI can surface the most meaningful moments in a match and explain why they matter. Here's what changes to build this proof of concept into a scalable, real-time product.

From one layer to four

The prototype pulls in one layer — the statistical moment enriched with manually curated context. The full product stacks four layers into every moment card: the moment itself (detected and scored in real-time), the historical context (pulled automatically from structured data), the human lens (biographical stories, personal stakes, off-field context), and the ex-pro voice (perspective from former players and tactical analysts). These four layers combine into a single rich experience that makes every significant event feel deeper, more meaningful, and more worth paying attention to.

Automated Signal Enrichment

The enriched signal packages in this prototype are manually researched and curated. The production system automatically pulls cross-match player data, head-to-head history, league table implications, and biographical context from structured data sources — generating rich signal packages for every match without manual intervention.

Live Data Integration

This prototype processes post-match data. The production system ingests live event feeds in real-time, generating narrative cards as the match unfolds — delivering insights to fans within seconds of each significant moment.

Multi-League Coverage

The prototype covers 4 Premier League matches. The production system supports the full Premier League season at launch, with expansion to Champions League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and MLS in subsequent phases.

Creator Layer

The production product adds a human intelligence layer — former players, tactical analysts, and sports journalists who contribute context and perspective that enhance the AI-generated narratives. This is where biographical details and behind-the-scenes stories enter the system at scale. And where an ex-professional's voice explains what a 2-minute turnaround feels like from inside the dressing room.

Distribution & Sharing

Moment cards become shareable as formatted images and clips across social media, messaging apps, and fan communities. Each card becomes a piece of content that drives organic distribution.

Fan Personalization

The production system learns which teams, players, and narrative types each fan cares about — surfacing tailored moments through push notifications, a companion app, and embedded widgets for media partners.
